I recently took my Coach course with Mike at Air Adventures in Clewiston, FL. I can tell you that Mike was awesome - he kept the course interesting and fun, and filled us with the information and skills we needed to not only make us good coaches, but better overall skydivers!! Thank you Mike for the fun jumps (even if they were evaluations) and for sharing your knowledge with us! If I ever decide to get my AFF rating (NOT!!??) you will be the first and only person I call! If you are someone out there interested in obtaining a rating, GO NO FURTHER! This is the guy you need to call! Blue skies to all!

The AFF rating course is NOT easy. Michael Wadkins (course director) has an outstanding teacherâ??s demeanor and will inspire and mentor you through the pre-course and course to fly like you never knew you could. If you earn your rating from him, youâ??ll have the confidence to handle the most challenging students.

I don't have the proper words to explain my feengs as it relates to my participation in a Coach Rating course held by Mike Wadkins. In brief , an outstanding experience! Mike is a true professional. His passion and dedication to the sport and to his students is second to none. I will alway look to him as a mentor and a friend. Most instructional courses I have attended resulted in my clearly knowing that the instructor is more knowledgable than I am andtha i was the "Little Student". Not so with Mike. Not only are you in an outstanding learning environment , you are treated like a professional and taught to hold yourself high in your discipline. Additionally , you are encouraged to put your new skills into action and begin the process of helping others as soon as possible. A wonderful experience. One that I would recommend to everyone who has a desire to help our sport grow. Thank you Mike. Curtis Perkins

I completed both the AFF-I Pre-Course and AFF-I Course with Michael at Lake Wales FL 12-17NOV08 and previously attended the Excel Skydiving Coach course in May of 08. I can confidently say that Michael taught a challenging course that carried a high standard of performance in both the course and Pre-course. His teaching methodologies and attention to personally tailoring the pre-course to candidate needs and abilities ensure that not only was I capable of passing the course, but that I had the skill set above and beyond that to push me to the next level in AFF Instruction. His Pre-course will set the conditions for success no matter who's course you choose to ultimately attend and is absolutely worth every slot you buy and every penny you pay (which is actually quite reasonable). Thank you again Michael for the tools to "pay it forward" to the skydiving community. It was truly a pleasure to learn from a dedicated uncompromising professional.

I just took the S/LI course from Michael this past weekend. I am a Certified Technical Trainer (CompTIA) with six years of teaching experience as a Microsoft Certified Trainer and I can confidently say that Michael is truly a pro when it comes to training technique. Over the past couple of years, I have taken the coach course and the AFFI pre-course with two other well-known and respected course directors, and compared to them, Michael is by far the best. He knows the material forwards and backwards. Michael is friendly, professional, enthusiastic, and individually attentive to the specific learning needs of each of his students.

Mike is an insightful instructor and enthusiastic to share his knowledge. You learn how to get the best out of the student and the skydive. Lots of fun, lots of information and you know if you got it from him you earned it. Thanks Mike, see ya in a few hundred jumps!

I recently attended a coach course given by Mike at Skydive The Farm. The least I can say is that he is an awesome instructor that is really giving back to the skydive community. He has a great abiliity to teach and give confidence to the student at the same time. He is highly recomended throughout the skydive community and a great asset to our sport. If you need a rating you should at least give him a call and talk with him.
